Do you need a Savior? Dr. Blackstock explains from the book Titus the importance of the regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost and how it relates to the eternal life that God originally gave to Adam. When man sinned in the Garden of Eden, he lost the eternal life that God gave him. The penalty for our sin is eternal separation from God. If we want to have eternal life, the penalty for our sins must be paid. However, if we pay the penalty, we must take the punishment and be eternally separated from God. Someone else would have to pay for our sins for us to have eternal life. Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins so that we could have eternal life. Salvation can only come to us by the grace of God and not by our actions. We are saved not by our works but according to the mercy of God. We cannot save ourselves. We need a savior to be saved and forgiven of our sins.
